Wright in Chicagoland

Friends of the Gamble House are hosting a tour of La Minatura in Pasadena on Saturday, January 26, 2008, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Here is an extraordinary opportunity to tour Wright’s unique textile-block commission, La Miniatura (1923), originally envisioned as a Mayan ruin set in a jungle ravine. Rarely open to the public, this spectacular private home is a restoration in progress.

Tour the main house, a mysterious and exotic blend of wood, stone and ironwork, and Lloyd Wright’s studio building, added in 1926.

Lunch, available for purchase, will be served in the gardens in the shadow of La Miniatura.

The William Boswell House a 5,500 square toot Usonian-style ranch has been listed with an asking price of $3.4 million.

The Cincinnati area home is often called the "lost house" of Frank Lloyd Wright.

A specialty tour of the Robie House on January 26th and also February 26th gives visitors a look at how Wright was ahead of his time .
